Pound cost averaging - evening out the bumps

You've set your sights on a particular company. But rather than acquiring a huge chunk shares in one go, you buy little and often, sometimes over period of years.

It may cost you more for shares one month, but far less the next.

The idea is that over say five years the price will average out and the shares will hopefully have gone up in value. This is a passive means of investment that takes the guesswork out of timing your buy.
